Hello my beautiful brides to be! My name is Alleigh and I am the voice behind the fashion & lifestyle blog AlleighChrzan.com. My mission with my blog is to help women step outside their comfort zone, be bold with color, and look like a million bucks for under $100! Today I wanted to share with you some tips and tricks on how to dress for your engagement photos! These are photos you’ll have forever, share all over your socials, and you want to be dressed trendy and for your body type!

High Necklines

Wether it’s a dress, blouse, or sweater, for all my bigger chested girls out there, having a higher neckline is such a flattering look! If your engagement photos are during the spring and summer months, opt for a sleeveless and higher neckline like this dress from Vince Camuto! I snagged it from TJ Maxx for under $50 and with it’s flowly high low bottom, add a little wind, a big smile, and you’ll have the most gorgeous photos in this dress!

To coordinate with your man have him wear a nice pair of slacks, button down, but ditch the tie so you’re a casual and elegant looking couple.

What to Wear Engagement 1

“Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” A great look that can be worked into any season is florals! There are so many floral and color combinations out there, you are bound to find one that works for you and coordinates well with your man! This little number is so great for a few reasons:

  1. The floral is a very bold print and color, so it’s flattering on all body types.
  2. The navy color works great into all seasons.
  3. If you’re self conscious about your arms, the ruffles on the sleeves with take the attention away from them.
  4. The dress is made from a mixture of polyester and spandex. So while it’s not skin tight like a wet suit, it does hug in all the right places and is extremely comfortable.

To coordinate with your man have him wear a light blue button down or gray sweater with a blazer thrown over top to help compliment your floral pattern. For bottom, nice slacks or chinos are always a wise choice.

Wrap dresses

Diane von Furstenberg is the queen of the wrap dress. She created this dress to help compliment a women's’ curves in all the right places. The wrap dress is a great piece that you can have fun with color, patterns, length, and still feel comfortable in your photos! This little kelly green number from Target’s new line “A New Day” has all these adorable ruffle features while still accentuating my waist line with the wrap dress cut. For your man, he can either take the casual route with jeans and a plaid shirt, or dress it up with a light colored linen suit!

What to Wear Photos

Two Piece

Your engagement session should be fun, so why not rock a fun look?! Find yourself a bold skirt, skater, a-line or maxi, and pair it with a textured top! One of my favorite skirts is this little pink number from Forever 21 and I paired it with this feather like textured top from Zara. I love the hues of pink against each other. But if pink or similar tones isn’t your thing, pair a cream maxi skirt with a chambray button down and tie it at the waist, or find a tulle a-line skirt and wear a long sleeve blouse with it! When you can mix and match your top and bottom, the possibilities are endless!

For your man, this is another look you can have him dress up or down! Have him rock a casual suit and skinny tie, or a nice plaid button down with navy slacks for a more dressed up look, or have him in a simple sweater and chinos for the casual look.
